Dustin Johnson and the 4 Aces Golf Club headed to Portland for the second LIV Golf event at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club. The 4 Aces had a new look thanks to the additions of Talor Gooch, Patrick Reed, and Pat Perez. Pumpkin Ridge was setup very tough for the participants.
Dustin and the team knew they had to come out of the gates firing to keep up with the field. Thanks to three birdies on the front nine alone, Dustin shot 68 to give the 4 Aces a fighting chance to make a move heading into the final two rounds. DJ sat in solo second heading into the Friday round. Needless to say, Friday was an up and down round for DJ. Eight birdies and four bogies led Dustin to a second round 68. DJ was T1 with Carlos Ortiz as they headed into the final round. Paired with Carlos Ortiz, and Branden Grace, Dustin got off to a slow start during the final round. Back-to-back birdies on the 7th and 8th holes got him right back into contention. Dustin went on to fall just short of Branden Grace, but locked up a 4th place finish.
Though he did not win the individual, the 4 Aces won the team portion of the event. This gave them their first team win of the LIV Golf Invitational series. Next up for Dustin, the Open Championship at St. Andrews.
