Dustin Johnson Wins Boston Invitational, Leads 4 Aces to Third-Straight Team Victory

The Captain of the 4 Aces, Dustin Johnson, rolled into Boston primed to win their third event in a row. The International set up perfectly for the best players in the world and would be a great test.

The first round was a flying start for Dustin Johnson and the rest of the team. Dustin made six birdies two bogies, and a double bogey en-route to a first round 67. DJ sat two back of his teammate, Talor Gooch, who shot a first round 63. The 4 Aces were flying high.

Day 2 at The International brought some fireworks for Dustin! Thanks to an eagle on the par-5 8th hole coupled with eight birdies, Dustin shot a second round 63 to take the lead. Sunday would bring the action as DJ looked to win his first individual title for LIV Golf.

Dustin got off to a slow start with a bogey on his first hole, but got it right back with a birdie on two. Three more birdies on the front and DJ was right there. New comers to LIV Golf, Anirban Lahiri and Joaquin Niemann, were making a huge push to dethrone Dustin. With only two birdies on the back nine, DJ found himself in a playoff with Niemann and Lahiri.

The playoff was set on the par-5 18th hole and two stellar shots by DJ left him 60 feet for eagle. Giving it a mighty stroke, DJ’s eagle putt hit the hole and went in! Dustin won his first LIV Golf event in style. Not only did he win, 4 Aces won their third straight team title.

Next up for Dustin, LIV Golf Invitational in Chicago.
