Over the past decade, Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) has quietly been amassing quite the portfolio of golf partnerships and sponsorships. Today, RBC announces its newest brand ambassador, Dustin Johnson, who joins 13 men’s and women’s golfers on Team RBC.
Add that to its title sponsorships of the RBC Canadian Open, which dates back to 2008, and the addition of the RBC Heritage in 2012, and RBC is becoming one of the most prolific brands to align itself with the professional game.
The partnership between RBC and Johnson is a no-brainer for the company. Johnson is currently ranked No. 1 in the world, was the 2016 PGA Player of the Year and is only the third player in PGA Tour history to win a title in each of the 11 seasons since his debut.
“Dustin has really dedicated himself to maximizing the talent he has — from his fitness to his health to his family — and that focus and dedication have produced exceptional results,” said RBC’s president and CEO, Dave McKay.
